The towel was clearly within reach, yet Vivienne missed it several times.
After throwing up, the discomfort eased a little, though waves of dizziness still clouded her head. Washing her face with cold water didn't help; if anything, it left her even more dazed.
Sebastian could tell she was far from sober. Without a word, he scooped her back into his arms and carried her to the bed, then gently wiped her face with a warm, damp towel.

His hand paused. In his eyes, dark as the night, there flickered the faintest hint of warmth.
