Chapter 86
"I can promise you this, if she doesn't come looking for trouble, I won't go after her either. But if she pushes me too far…"
Vivienne looked Sebastian straight in the eye. "I won't back down, and don't think you can use whatever debt you owe her to guilt me into playing along.
"Sebastian, if you want to endlessly forgive her, that's your choice. But I don't owe her anything, and you have no right to ask me to do the same."
Sebastian's voice was low and hoarse. "I understand."
Vivienne knew that, for now, they'd reached some sort of agreement. She stood up. "I'm going upstairs. If you've got work to do, go ahead."
Without waiting for a response, she turned and walked straight back to her room.
Once inside, a sudden thought struck her.
Since they were putting on a show, it wouldn't make sense for her and Sebastian to be sleeping in separate rooms. This meant they'd have to share a room—and worse, there was only one bed.
