Chapter 7 Froze
Hazel's POV
Taking a deep breath, I forced my eyes to open but my eyelids felt so heavy that it was hard to force them open.
Despite them being open, I still had to fight to keep that way as the weakness I felt was becoming overpowering.
I looked around hoping to see myself in heaven as the memory of the nerve-wracking pain flashed through my mind and made my body jerk involuntarily.
Looking around, I noticed a figure directly beside me, spinning an object and my heart jumped, frightened.
Arnold was sitting beside my bed playing with a dagger in his hand.
Did he want to kill me?
I tried to force myself to sit up but that wasn't happening.
I looked up at him, hoping to get a bit of condolence or at least an explanation of what had happened, but all I got was his deadpan eyes boring into mine.
"Have you ever done any job for Josie?" He asked immediately, and for a moment, my brain paused before thinking.
What did he mean by job?
