Chapter 243
When Serena and Oliver got back to the table, Dylan had already arrived. Things turned a little awkward at first with the usual polite chatting, but after a while, Serena felt totally out of place—like she was the lone spotlight ruining the mood. It suddenly hit her that Matthew hadn’t messaged her all day. So much for his “see you tomorrow.” Guess he forgot.
Her mood tanked fast at dinner, and her thoughts started spiraling. The moment the meal was over, she stood up with a sigh, clearly just wanting to leave.
"Let’s go for a walk," Oliver said with a grin, stepping in to stop her. "Good for digestion." Everyone else chimed in, nodding. Serena didn’t really want to, but she couldn’t just shoot down Oliver in front of everyone, so she forced a smile and went along.
