Dorian said, "Just take it as me being worried about you getting sick and being unable to give me the antidote, alright? Now, drink it."
Mildred accepted the bowl and finished it in one go.
Just then, Dorian looked down and spotted her bare feet. "Why aren't you wearing socks?"
"My socks are wet."
"I had new ones prepared for you."
With that said, Dorian walked into the bathroom and took out a new pair of socks from the shelf.
"I didn't notice them," Mildred said.
Dorian tugged her to the couch and urged, "Put them on now."
Before Mildred could refuse, he had already placed her leg on his knee to put on the socks for her. The moment the sock was rolled onto her foot, it insulated her well from the cold.
