Chapter 13
I slowly woke up, feeling surprisingly refreshed.
"How long was I out?" I asked.
"Two hours," Sophia said, helping me to my feet and leading me to the dining table.
Before me lay four dishes and a steaming bowl of soup. My eyes widened in disbelief.
"You cooked all this?"
Sophia gave me a teasing glare. "What? You don't think I'm capable?"
"N-no, of course it's not that…" I quickly shook my head.
I was just honestly caught off guard.
The food was delicious, clearly made with skill and practice. It wasn't something a beginner could easily prepare.
"During my time abroad, I couldn't adjust to the food, so I started cooking for myself," Sophia shared.
"See? Now it all makes sense, doesn't it?"
That cleared things up.
"The new company's officially registered," she added. "But… I'm not ready to share the name just yet."
I chuckled. "So that's another secret?"
"Of course!"
Sophia smiled, her dimples deepening at the corners of her lips. She looked absolutely radiant.
