#Chapter 11 The Ring
Aaron’s POV
I turn in agitation away from Emma and her piercing blue eyes. My irritated gaze falls on the desk that used to be Mae’s, in the bedroom I used to share with her. To the drawer from which I watched her pull the divorce papers she’d kept hidden from me for two years.
I was left by one deceiving Ashford woman only to be manipulated by the next.
Emma lied. She admitted to it. There was no emergency, no reason for me to leave Mae, no purpose for the disruptive call except to lure me back to the Moon House.
I grimace as Emma latches onto my arm, turning me to look at her. “Please,” she pouts. “I still love you.”
I close my eyes, trying to remember what it was like before she disappeared, before I grew used to Mae as my mate. Trying to remember the joy I found in Emma’s company, the desire with which I admired her body.
