Aaron’s POV My heart thunders in my chest. She just literally pushed Henry out the door and is now asking me to stay. I don’t know whether to feel nervous or excited. “You said your father seemed pleased to see my lipstick on your face on Wednesday,” Mae reminds me. I nod once, the tightness in my chest leaning more toward excitement. “Then why don’t you come over tomorrow morning right before they arrive, and we can do that again.” Blood rushes south at the idea of getting to kiss Mae again.
