#Chapter88
Aaron’s POV
The rest of the debate is a blur.
Carl Creighton, the MC and my friend for most of my life, loses his shit. Once I bow out of the presidential race and the crowd erupts in panicked chatter, he tries to shut the whole event down. I lean into my mic that is thankfully still turned on, and say, “The only remaining candidate has yet to be granted her ninety seconds for her initial statement.”
I hate that I have to be the one to say it, that an Alpha’s voice and influence is required to get an Omega her basic rights. No matter what I just said and did and disrupted for Lacertia, I know it will continue to be this way for a while. Generations maybe.
But at least we’re finally headed in the right direction.
Carl tries to keep Mae from making her statement due to disturbance from the audience, and the entire crowd immediately sits down and shuts up to prove him wrong. Well, not all of them sit down right away, but they’re quickly tugged into their seats by others.
