Chapter 1175
Sophie stared at Claude, her body still and her eyes filling with tears. Noticing this, Claude gently placed a hand on her shoulder and urged, "Let's go."
Finally, she moved, taking a slow step forward. Claude guided her as they walked toward the room.
The corridor was empty, and their footsteps echoed loudly in the silence.
"Please help me, Claude," Sophie whispered. Her voice was so soft that even though he was right beside her, it was almost too quiet to hear. But Claude sensed it. He stopped walking and turned to look at her.
She was crying. Of course, he could see that. Sophie was his favorite cousin, and it pained him to see how tired and thin she looked. He sighed and said, "Let's go in."
He led her to the room, and though Sophie kept crying, she followed him. When they reached the door, Claude glanced at Jacob, who was staring back at him.
Claude quickly looked away and stepped into the room.
Outside, only Sophie's parents and Jacob remained. Jacob raised his eyebrows
