The man stepped out of the building and hailed a taxi. He slid into the backseat, directing the driver where to go. Ten minutes later, the taxi pulled up to a black car parked along the street. The man paid his fare, got out, and walked over to the car. Unlocking it, he slipped into the passenger seat and spoke quietly, "I didn't find it, Mr. Claude." Claude glanced over, his expression unreadable. "Was anyone else there before you?" The man shook his head. "I didn't check the surveillance cameras, but I searched everywhere in the house." Claude fell silent. In the back seat, Keira looked up, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "Then where could she have hidden it?" she wondered aloud. There was no answer to her question. They sat in silence for a moment until Claude sighed, seeming to make a decision. "I hope you didn't leave the place in disarray," he said. "No, I tried to keep everything exactly where it was," the man reassured him. Claude nodded, although his expression show
