Chapter 12
For the first time, Alexander looked at Aaron's face. It was so much like his own, yet it felt like he was staring at a stranger.
"Aaron, do you remember the time your school held that event? Your mom went with you. One of your classmates liked her so much that she lied and said you pushed her, hoping your mom would abandon you. Do you remember that?" he asked.
Aaron frowned in confusion. "Why are you bringing that up now?"
"Alicia is doing the exact same thing your classmate did," Alexander said as he handed Aaron the phone.
Aaron was still young, and while he couldn't read every word, the pictures and the bits he could understand were enough to show him that Alicia wasn't the person he thought she was.
Aaron held the phone in his hands, staring blankly at Alicia, the woman he had just been protecting.
"Alicia…"
Alicia's eyes turned red as she pleaded, "Alex, I did it because I love you too much. I know I was wrong, but I didn't say anything too terrible. I just wanted to stand
