Chapter 9

Aaron was happily taking pictures of Alicia and Alexander when suddenly his face went pale. He lost grip of the camera, which fell with a thud onto the sand. His heart pounded fiercely, and a faint pain spread across his chest, turning his sunburned face ghostly white. "Aaron, what's wrong?" Alicia's face filled with concern as she quickly rushed over to support him gently. Alexander followed behind. Even his usual indifference gave way to a trace of worry. "Daddy..." Aaron whimpered. "I don't feel good. I don't want to play anymore. I want to go home." For some reason, being held by Alicia only made the pain in his chest worse. Aaron struggled away and threw himself into Alexander's arms. A strange sense of unease swirled in his heart, as if he was about to lose something precious.
