The lounge was dead silent even after the audio ended.
But all eyes were fixed on Olivia—curious, suspicious, and trying to figure it all out.
Her mind went completely blank, like an old TV that had just lost signal—nothing but static.
Wait, there was a recorder?
Who the heck hides a recording pen in a dress?
Charisse let out a soft sigh and quietly retrieved the dress and recorder from a stunned Eliza.
Lauren was the first to snap out of it. "Olivia, did you ruin Charisse's dress?"
"It wasn't me!" Olivia blurted out instinctively.
"Then how do you explain what we all just heard?"
The color drained from Olivia's face, and her flawless makeup suddenly looked like a distorted mask, fake and eerie.
By comparison, Charisse remained calm—almost too calm.
Like she had seen this coming all along.
