CHAPTER 9. That morning, the project office was still quiet when Liora arrived. She parked her car with slightly trembling hands, something that rarely happened since she decided to become a new woman five years ago. But that feeling haunted her again when Adrian appeared... with the same gaze as before. Sharp, firm, yet full of pain that almost made her lose her way. Liora took a deep breath before getting out. She hoped that the day would go normally, without the shadows of the past following her. However, that hope vanished when she saw a man standing near the entrance, his hands in his pockets, his head slightly bowed as if considering whether he had the right to be there. Adrian. He stood still, but there was an indescribable tension. As soon as he saw Liora, he slowly raised his face, as if afraid that Liora would disappear if he moved too quickly. "Liora...," he said softly. The voice that used to make Liora's heart race now made her knees weak with trauma. Liora didn't answer.
