What Is Unfair
Sapphire kept her head on his chest even though she wasn’t crying anymore, just an occasional sniff and nothing more.
Both of them sat in comfortable silence, rocking back and forth.
“Do you want to talk to your grandmother?” He asked and she paused before nodding.
He reached for her phone and handed it to her, she collected the phone with shaky hands.
She stared at the phone and exhaled heavily, he squeezed her shoulder and nodded encouragingly.
She inhaled and dialed her grandmother’s contact, it rang for a bit and Sapphire felt like an eternity has passed in that space of thirty seconds, time has never felt slower.
“Sapphire?” She heard the voice of her grandmother and her breath caught in her throat. She was not ready for her to admit it no matter how strong the font she put on it was.
“Sapphire,” Alexander said softly, nudging her shoulder.
“I am listening, are you alright darling?” Madam Emiliana asked and the care in her voice brought angry tears to her eyes.
