Chapter 150
At the far end of the hospital hallway, Nelson Cooper's phone rang once, only to be cut off almost immediately. A few seconds later, it buzzed again.
This time, after ringing a few times, the call was picked up.
"Nelson, are you serious right now? Why haven't you been answering? Where the hell did you go? You brought me out to eat, then vanished without a damn word. Fine, the bill went straight to your card, whatever. But your car? Your car's gone! What's that supposed to mean? You better come back and pick me up right now!"
Dominic's voice blasted through the speaker, loud and pissed off. Even without seeing him, you could almost picture him pacing and yelling into his phone.
But on the other end of the call, Nelson just stood silently with his phone in hand. He didn't react at all — just stared out the window blankly, his sharp features emotionless, dark eyes distant and unfocused.
Dominic ranted on for a while before finally snapping, "Hey! Nelson! Are you even listening to me?"
