Afraid he might change his mind, Claire asked again, "Really? You're really not just saying that to make me feel better?"

Worried she'd start crying, Adrian added with a pet in his tone, "Whenever you want to go back, just set the date and let me know in advance, alright?"
Before he finished speaking, she threw herself into his arms, her petite frame almost knocking him back. "I knew you loved me most, Adrian. But I still want to stay here in Jadewick for a couple more days. When I'm ready, I'll talk to you about going back."
