Claire quickly looked away.
She felt kinda embarrassed for staring at him for that long.
With a polite smile, she shifted Henry in her arms and gave him a little bounce.
"He's not heavy at all. I used to train with sandbags tied to my arms back when I was flipping woks. Holding this little guy? Piece of cake."
Henry instinctively tightened his small arms around her with that movement, but after hearing what she said, his heart ached a little.
"Aunt Claire, you can put me down. I'm already five, I can walk on my own."
She'd already gone through so much out there, and now that she was home, it was their turn—the men of the house—to protect her. Even if he was just a kid, he couldn't be a burden.
