Claire always had enough people who loved and cared for her.
If someone treated her well, she'd return it a hundredfold. But if someone didn't like her, she had no problem acting the same way back. No point bending over backwards just because they were family.
Victor caught the slight perfunctory tone in her voice, knowing full well what his grandson was like. He continued gently, "He's cold on the outside, warm on the inside. If there's anything you need in Raventon or any place you want to go, just ask him. He's not great at much else, but when it comes to going out, he knows his way around."
