"Oh wow, dragging your husband into that rant? My heart, it's shattered."

The man who walked in wore the same beige suit as Ethan, gold-rimmed glasses perched on his nose, looking every inch the refined gentleman.
"Uncle Peter," Claire greeted with a grin as she stood.
"Sit down, no need to get all formal with family."
Peter waved her back into her seat and settled next to Fanny. He pulled a wrapped paper container from the bag he brought and handed it to her.
"Here. You've been at it all night—you need something warm in your system."
The unmistakable buttery aroma of chicken pot pie drifted into the air as Fanny peeled back the lid.
She gave him a sideways glare. "Really? You brought pot pie? At this hour? What, you think I’m wasting away or something? And wait—did you use my reusable container for this? Seriously?"
She grumbled, but still took the food and began picking at the flaky crust with the plastic
