"Nelson…" Serena quickly followed after him. She didn't care if Claire really went to the police—what ticked her off most was that the knife missed Claire and ended up injuring Nelson instead. "Mr. Thompson, Mrs. Parker, you two clearly didn't do your job raising your kid, and you're just gonna let this slide?" Nelson paused at the doorway when he heard her voice, shooting a cold glance back at Michael and Elena. He didn't wait to see if they reacted, just turned and rushed after Claire, who was already about to head out of the villa. Serena tried to chase after him again, but Elena, fuming mad, yanked her back. "Serena, haven't you stirred enough trouble for one night?" she snapped in a hushed, angry voice. Michael shot her a glare—he looked downright disappointed. Not wanting to even look at the mother-daughter duo anymore, he forced a polite smile and turned to the remaining guests. "I'm deeply sorry, this is truly my failing as a father. I know this has been an embarrassing scene.
