Chapter 8
Everyone froze. No one had expected Jerome to be married quietly, without a word to anyone, and to a woman nobody knew, or had ever heard of.
The smile finally slipped off Hector's face. "Mr. Lloyd, you must be joking…"
"We're divorced, Hector." I cut him off, my voice firm. "I never thought what happened between us was just a game. The damage you did to me was real. There's no possibility left between us. Do you understand? Stop bothering me. You're honestly annoying me."
Jerome wrapped an arm around my trembling shoulders and guided me toward a private lounge. "I'm sorry," he said calmly. "My wife isn't feeling well. I'll be taking her home."
With that, he didn't spare anyone another glance and led me away from the chaos.
