Chapter 28
Caleb put his words into action.
After leaving the hospital, he seemed like a completely new man.
He might still feel a pang of jealousy if Winona lingered a little too long discussing composition with a male photographer, but he no longer sulked in silence.
Instead, he would pull her into his arms and say, half-aggrieved, half-possessive, "Winnie, I don't like it when you look at another man for that long."
Winona would laugh and poke his cheek. "Caleb, aren't you being childish?"
He would cast aside all pretenses, joining her on camping trips through the Talran Desert.
He would listen to her bad ghost stories beneath the stars, and playfully put on a "terrified" face in response.
He would dance with her under the Northern Lights in Frostia, moving stiffly like two fools, yet laughing like children.
He learned to express himself, making it a ritual to kiss her and whisper "I love you" every morning and every night.
He was no longer the flawless Caleb Solt, but an ordinary man
