Cassandra only pretended not to understand whenever Christina and Gregory spoke to each other in Frannish, all because of Gregory's response when Christina asked him what he liked about Cassandra. Gregory had said, "She's a genius in the medical field, and she can help me out at work. Other than that, she's naive, docile, and clueless in all other aspects." In other words, he had been implying that women who were too intelligent were not likable. Thus, Cassandra had pretended to be dumb and obedient, hiding her skills for years just so that she could please Gregory. Now, she couldn't help but think she had been so ridiculously foolish. Gregory didn't actually like her. He just liked that she was the perfect tool and met his needs in every aspect. Even though Ashton disagreed with Christina's words, he couldn't come up with a good argument at that moment. He scratched his head and took a quick glance at Cassandra, who was right there. He thought it was a good thing she could
