The very first time Nick had met with Valeria and Pete, it was not under the best or under the fairest or prettiest of circumstances. It was a winter morning in Glasgow, the largest city in all of Scotland. The wind was a little high that morning and very few men and women littered the vacant street. The building that loomed ahead was a theatre house and at that hour, it was just getting ready for the event. While the inside boomed and was noisy with life and busy people of all ages and statures, some were hanging up the best of linens, others mopping floors and some making sure the decorations were top notch and as elegant and gorgeous as they were being paid to make it look.

For every ladder, there was a group of no less than six person gathered at the base with one up there, putting up the best of classy and beautiful decorations for the coming event that would be hosted 

Present day

Both parties met at a small goat pen by the side of the farm. The shed was reeking of animal dung and urine, a heap of hay laid on either sides of the pen, one stacked high and the other just a few layers low and about sixteen goats moved about eight no care in the world.

The Senator stood with only one of his men by his side, the other stood a shooting distance away, after searching and disarming the trio of what empty guns they carried. Sure that the trio were unarmed and harmless, the five men left and one stood beside Thomas, something he never allowed when he was meeting with Pete. Never. It had always been just the both of them talking in low tones.

Senator Thomas was dressed in a golf short, a polo shirt and a navy blue base ball cap that matched his stockings and encased in his boots clad feet. His stomach looked about to pop right out of his t-shirt or better stil

"We're out of amour, no knives, nothing" Valeria stated as they parked outside of a small farm shed, about 6 miles away from the city border. Oregon was a quieter place, the air was hotter in the mid July summer and the tension in their muscles coupled with the cramped style they sat in the small car and the heat was enough to drive anyone insane.

"We left the suitcase in the apartment, I totally forgot about guns and bullets in all that nonsense" Pete said and palmed his face angrily.

"Is this our last gig?" Valeria asked as he dabbed a wet towel on Moses' cheek gently, hoping and praying it would help him, trying her damnest to break his fever.

"I'll pretend I didn't just hear you say that" Pete replied in a slow tone.

"Then I'll say it again, Pete, is this our last gig?" She repeated.
