Chapter 14

Julia was awakened with good news early in the morning, and she was urged to go to the front hall. Julia's eyes brightened when she saw the big box of treasure in front of her. The emperor was a very generous man, at this point she was never letting go of William. Although Elena was the third most powerful within the family, she and her daughter were neglected and they didn't enjoy too many things. Elena used up all of her savings just so she could give Julia proper training in Spiritual Cultivation. Julia naturally accepted the treasure without any hesitation. She said, "Come, send these treasures to the shed out back." Oscar then said, "Julia, this was given to us by the emperor. It's not appropriate to send this to your shed, this should go to our warehouse for safe keeping." Julia replied, "My mother is seriously ill, I'm obviously going to exchange some of these for money and medicine. If this went to the warehouse, then it will be too much of a hassle to take money out. If something were to happen to her, I will need the money immediately. It'll be more convenient to have in the shed." "You heard the lady, carry it over!" Julia was interrupted, and the eldest uncle was speechless. "Father," Sarah Chu confronted her father. "Those two are a disgrace to the family. They have used up so much of our money and now they don't want to give it back to us? They're too stingy!" Sarah angrily said. Her father was in charge of the funds and treasures of the family, if she could get it inside the warehouse then all the jewelry could go to her. She also saw pills for Spiritual Cultivation, she could get promoted and become stronger if she got her hands on those. She wasn't going to let it fall into the bastard child's hands. Oscar said to her daughter, "Sarah, calm down. For as long as it is in the Chu family house, it will get into my pockets. Just give me some time." Sarah said expectantly, "Okay! I'll believe in Daddy." Elena woke up and immediately saw the treasures in her room, she was shocked. She thought she was just dreaming. Julia noticed that her mother had woken up and she said, "Mother, I'll help you up, be careful." "Julia, what are these?" Elena asked. "The emperor held a competition for Prince William's hand in marriage. I won first place and I became his fiancé. We talked for a bit and he agreed to give me the Nine-Lives Moon Pill. Apparently, William said that he was satisfied with me as a fiancé, so the emperor gave us all of these as a gift. He must have been worried that his son won't find another woman to marry and he gave me these so I don't run off somewhere," Julia said with a smile. "You! When did you become so talkative?" Elena felt that her daughter had become a lot more cute and lively. Julia has never had a father since birth. She had a talent for Spiritual Cultivation but that didn't help her at all. She had always been a girl with low self-esteem. Elena had always felt guilty, she didn't even know who Julia's father was so she couldn't try and find him. And because of her bad reputation, she couldn't find a suitable stepfather for her. "I'm just telling you the truth, there's nothing wrong with that, is there?" Julia laughed. "Of course not!" Elena said indulgently. But she looked at the generous gift once more, and she had a solemn expression on her face. She then said, "This is very hard to accept, and it's from the royal family too. I don't think I can—" Julia looked at her mother and she said, "I understand what you mean, but people don't give away money for nothing. This is our chance to be happy now, first, we need buy you some nice clothes and some good soap while we're at it. I know a store nearby that will be perfect and…" She continued telling her mother on how they could spend the money. Elena didn't take care of herself all these years. She spent all of her time, money and energy into her daughter. She has gotten hurt taking care of her, she has also gotten hurt working for her. She looks ten years older than she should be. But hearing her daughter's words, Elena's heart was filled with warmth. Julia, through her own efforts, had now become a rich woman. She sent someone to buy a few things for her and her mother. Her private wealth was just as much as the eldest uncle's. After a while, they came back with food, clothing, various soaps and tonics. She also hired a few servants to take care of her mother. They spent a lot of time decorating and cleaning the courtyard. The murky smell of the pond was fresh with lotus flowers. Their shed had turned into the most extravagant shed the kingdom had ever seen. The only problem was that the shed and their yard was too small. She decided to wait until her mother fully recovers. When she does they will build a larger house, one that is more quiet and peaceful. Henry hadn't been released yet. The Qin family begged William to let him go but he refused. Julia was there only hope of freeing their young master. Grandpa Chu blasted out anyone who came to the family house to harass Julia and her mother. As a result, they quietly broke into their home at night. "The Qin family is as cowardly as always, breaking into our homes in the dead of night to hurt defenseless women." Elena was the third strongest within the Chu family, and she wasn't merciful by any means. Although she had just recovered from her injuries, she didn't have any difficulty dealing with the goons of the Qin family. "You're Elena Chu! But why? You should be—" A figure appeared behind him. She delivered a solid blow to the back of his head and he was knocked out. They couldn't believe that a Second Level in the Condensed Body Realm knocked him out so easily. Elena also joined the fight, and the strength of the Ninth Level Refined Soul Realm flowed out from her body. Elena delivered decisive blows to their bodies and they were all convulsing on the ground in pain. They didn't know Elena had recovered already, the one who sent them didn't tell them. Julia whistled playfully. "That looks so amazing!" Julia was impressed with the Ninth Level Refined Soul Technique. Elena was the only person in the kingdom who could do this. Julia couldn't believe that the Red Spirit Kingdom treated her so poorly. Culture and societal norms are scary, it blinded them to such an amazing woman. Elena replied, "You're my daughter, you will definitely surpass me." Although she couldn't remember the man who drugged her, she did remember he had a powerful aura and it didn't seem like he was from any of the seven kingdoms. If she had a normal married life, Julia would have been an average woman in the kingdom in both looks and Spiritual Cultivation. "Now, what should we do to these people?" Elena walked over to her daughter and asked.
