Chapter 1804
Matthew paused for a moment and glanced at Clinton. Then, he reached into the storage bin and pulled out two vintage collectibles.
He handed them to Marion and said, "Hold onto these."
"Okay." Marion took them with both hands, moving carefully, terrified he might drop something worth a fortune. He knew he could not afford that kind of mistake.
Clinton noticed that Matthew was already busy and did not react to the payment he had just asked for. Realizing he might have pushed too far, Clinton gritted his teeth and tried again. "How about 8,000 dollars? Is 8,000 dollars fine with you?"
He still had student loans and 70 grand in personal debt from online lenders. Any lower, and he simply could not manage.
Matthew thought for a second, then pulled out another item from the bin. He remembered this one—it was a Teriualo-era tea set. He passed it to Marion as well.
Now holding something in both arms, Marion clutched the tea set to his chest and tucked it under his chin for extra support.
