Chapter 33-2 ★ Breaks my heart

The snow crunches under my booted feet, and I stalk to my bike with impatient legs. There's too much energy thrumming through my body. I'm suddenly anxious. West Virginia is a lot closer to my mate. It's a short ride, too. I could make it there in a few hours, check up on Hendrix, and then be back before the sun is up. I take a deep breath, closing my eyes right through the turmoil. I wouldn't have the strength to leave her again. I couldn't do it. "Veiler! It has been too long, my friend." A thick, rolling scottish accent calls. I turn to see Fraser stalking towards me in the cold, dark night. We shake hands roughly. I nod my head at him. "I'm glad you'll be on our side, that's for damn sure." I reply, gesturing my head at him. "You sure knew how to take down those Nazis." Humor lights his eyes, and he throws his head back in deep laughter that breaks the delicate silence around us. It's always fun to remember the battle
