Chapter 1 Blood-Sucking Family

I looked at my father standing next to me on the bed, and I felt unusually disheartened. He told the doctor to take my blood. He said, "This is for Diana's wedding tomorrow! Do it!" The doctor looked at my pale face without any ounce of pity and jabbed the thick needle into my arm. The day after was Diana's wedding. Diana was my younger half-sister. We shared the same father, but a different mother. Diana was looking at me too. "My dear sister, I'm sure you wouldn't want me humiliated tomorrow, right? After all, I'll be marrying Vincent tomorrow. He's the King of Houghton. This is something you can never dream of achieving." Diana looked at me smugly. My heart sank in despair. Clearly, Diana had expected this reaction. The Houghtons were the best among the wolf tribes. Their king, Vincent, had usurped the throne by killing his father. He was a ruthless monster. No one knew why Vincent would marry the second daughter of an inferior tribe. Soon, my lips turned pale. The doctor stopped taking my blood. "Your Majesty, I've taken four hundred milliliters. This will be enough for Princess Diana." My father shook his head. "Take another two hundred milliliters. There shall be no hiccups at my daughter's wedding." I looked at my father. Was I not his daughter too? Was he going to let his elder daughter die for the sake of his younger daughter's wedding? Diana looked down at me condescendingly, as if she had already married Vincent and become his queen. Diana had one issue, which was her lack of any scent of royalty. She had been drinking my blood daily to give herself a scent that was not hers to begin with, all so she could have the scent of royalty. Thus, I had become Diana's personal blood bank. I knew that my father would never banish me because Diana needed me. The doctor did not dare to defy the king's orders. He was just about to take more blood from me when I withdrew my hand and pleaded to my father, "Father, please. I'm your daughter too. I will die if you take any more blood from me." That was the first time I refused my father's request in the 18 years of my life. He seemed a little surprised, but he was not as angry as I expected him to be. He furrowed his brows, seemingly thinking about what I said. A sliver of hope rose in me. Perhaps he truly cared for me. I waited with hope. Alas, things were never as I wished. Diana said, "Forget about it, Father. If my dear sister doesn't want to give me her blood. I don't need it. I just won't marry Vincent then." Diana lowered her head in dejection as if I was the one in the wrong. She was the one taking my blood! My father got a little anxious when he heard that Diana did not want to marry Vincent. He immediately held her hand. "Don't worry, my dear. You must marry Vincent and become a great woman." My father turned to look at me in disdain. "You murdered your mother. What right do you have to refuse? You live to pay back for the sins you've committed! This is your fate! You are a murderer! Even if you die, you'll have to pay for your sins!" Would my father not show any pity on me even if I die? Tears fell from my face. "Father…" My father stared at me with an icy gaze. "Don't call me your father. You are nothing but a failure! You're just a useless piece of trash whose wolf has not awakened!" I was numb. I have heard those same words for 18 years. I was a useless piece of trash! A piece of trash whose wolf has not awakened! My mother was a lowly commoner. If it were not for my drunk of a father, I would not have existed. When I turned 15, my mother celebrated my birthday, but somehow, I went berserk and killed her by accident. When I came to, I saw my mother lying in the pool of her own blood. I did not understand why I had lost control, nor why I would kill my mother. I hugged my mother's corpse and sobbed. She was the only person who treated me nicely. She was my only comfort. Unfortunately, Diana witnessed the entire thing. In my memory, she did not look terrified at all. Instead, she was delighted. I never knew if I was hallucinating. Thanks to her, my father and stepmother had also found out that I killed my mother. They have been using this matter to control me ever since. My father glared at me. "If you dare defy me, I'll banish you from the tribe!" As someone whose wolf has not awakened, I would die quickly if I were banished from the tribe. Diana's wolf has awakened. Hers was a white, regal-looking wolf. Due to that, my father loved her even more and became even colder to me. I wanted to resist, but I had no strength. I was a mere lowly being. Anyone could walk all over me. Survival of the fittest. That has always been the rule. Diana looked at my father with feigned anxiety. "Father, my wedding has to be perfect tomorrow. I'm marrying Vincent, the King of Houghton. I'm to be his queen in the future." My father looked at Diana tenderly. "My dear daughter, do not fret. I will make sure things are perfect for you." He turned to the doctor and said, "Pin her down and take her blood!" The doctor moved quickly. I wanted to run but I was pinned down by four servants. I could only beg, "No! Please!" The needle pierced my skin once more. Diana looked at me provokingly, as if she was trying to say that I was a weakling, so I held no value in my father's heart, even if I was his daughter. I was used to it. Ever since I was young, all the love my father had was only for Diana. My arm was covered in needle scars. It was all thanks to Diana. When the needle poked me, it still hurt. My already exhausted body pumped out another 200 millimeters of blood. At that moment, my sight blurred as a wave of dizziness washed over me. Diana looked at my blood with great thirst. She poured my blood into a wine glass and downed it in one go. What a disgusting monster! My consciousness slowly began to fade as I watched them walk out of the door and lock me in, leaving me in a dark storage room. Yes. I did not have a room of my own. The storage room was where my mother and I have lived for 15 years. It was where I have lived for the past three years. This was also the place where I killed my mother. I cried until I passed out. I did not know how long I was out. I only felt someone standing right in front of me. The next second, cold water splashed on my face. I instantly awakened and opened my eyes.
