Chapter 22
After Jason left, Charles stayed behind alone in Jason's house.
He stood there for a long time before heading into the study. Opening a drawer, he pulled out the music sheet that had once been torn up.
It had been carefully taped back together. The tears were still clearly visible, but at least it was readable.
His fingers lightly traced along the rips, brow furrowed tight.
Charles laid the music sheet across his knees, staring at it blankly for who knows how long before finally folding it and gently placing it back in the drawer.
Letting out a deep, irritated breath, he left Jason's place.
Just as he stepped outside, his phone rang with a call from the hospital.
"Mr. Hart, your daughter is awake."
