Charles's face dropped immediately, his eyes locked sharply on Stella. He lowered his voice, just enough for the two of them to hear. "You really want that divorce that badly? Fine. But don't think you'll get a penny out of me." She met his gaze head-on without backing down. "Whatever. I don't want your money. Just give me the Johnson family house." That place had always been hers—naturally, she wanted it back. Everything else related to him? She didn't want any part of it. Charles scowled, voice cold and tight with barely contained anger. "You can have the house—on one condition. Let me see Sophie." What was supposed to be hers now suddenly came with strings attached? She had zero interest in getting dragged into this pointless back-and-forth. Every time he brought up Sophie, it hit her right in the gut. Taking a breath, she turned to Renee, trying to keep her tone calm. "Renee, I've got something urgent to deal with. I'm heading out first." With that, she was ready to go. Renee looke
