Charles stood in the doorway, his black trench coat drenched in rain, a blood-stained bandage at his neck, eyes burning with intensity.
"I told you—you’re not walking away from me again," he said, voice low and rough, blending into the sound of rain outside. Behind him, Firehunters’ elite squad had their weapons at the ready, sealing the lab off from every angle.
