Chapter 31
Charles's eyes were icy cold, the grip in his hand tightening even more.
His veins bulged across the back of his hand as he spoke with a chilling tone:
"Looks like you're not gonna talk until things get real nasty, huh? Go ahead—test me. I dare you."
There was no doubt—when Charles gave a warning, he meant it. People feared him for a reason.
The woman stiffened, face going pale, but she still clenched her teeth, refusing to say a word. Her lips were already bleeding from biting down so hard, yet she stayed silent.
With a sharp wave of his hand, Charles ordered the guards. A set of torture tools was swiftly presented.
She'd only heard rumors of what Charles could do. Seeing it up close—the actual tools gleaming under the dim light—was a whole different story. Her trembling got worse.
He picked one up and slowly moved it in front of her, his voice low and cold:
"This thing here? Hurts like hell. So unless you want to find out just how much, I suggest you start talking."
