Chapter 76

After hanging up, I'm right out the door of my room, on the way to find my boyfriend. Bennett had told me before we said our goodbye's that it would ease both his and my worries if he sent some soldiers over to help patrol the area. I told him he didn't have to do that and that Rowan and I can protect everyone, but not even we will be enough if things escalate. I arrive at Evan's door and gently knock on it, swaying forward, then back, on my heals as I wait. There isn't a response for a while, and after not receiving one after the second knock that lands on the door, I decide he isn't in there. Quickly, I turn on my heal and go back towards the direction I came from, going back down the stairs. My next stop is the kitchen. The house is surprisingly quiet.
