Chapter 33
"Yeah," I chuckled softly, looking down at my hands. "But I also lost some things too." When Andrew didn't speak, I continued. "I lost the man that claimed to be my father. The man who raised me. I've lost my small, old pack of rogues. I lost my old friends. I think I'm even losing my best friend. The only person I could count on to be my shoulder to cry on." I begged myself not to cry in front of Andrew. In the midst of my blabbering, he too had placed and closed his menu on the table, deciding what he wanted to order.
"Well," he paused for a moment, collecting the words he was going to use carefully. "You win some and you lose some," he shrugged. "You try so hard to make everyone happy. You try to make everything go right, but the truth is, you can't have everything." I nodded softly, a single, lone tear making it's way down my cheek. "And that's okay, because in the end, you learn things you would never understand if everything went perfect. You learn what hardships are
