Chapter 7 Sam's POV

I woke up still holding Sarah in my arms. Everything I needed was right there. If only I could make this moment last forever. I was enjoying watching her sleep and breathing in her sweet smell of peach. I could never have enough of her. Sure enough, I could smell her pheromones, even as she slept. Those pheromones that have such a big effect on me. I knew what she would need when she would wake up and would be glad to give it to her. I was feeling bad since I was away last night as the heat first struck her. But I wouldn't let that happen another time, I will stay with her as much as she needs. Every she-wolf or woman I know that experienced heat said the same thing: it gets unbearable if your mate is away and I really didn't want her to experience this pain. I would just need to stay with her until the heat is over. Which wouldn't be hard to do because her pheromones irresistibly attracted my wolf in a way that I don't want to be apart from her. Just going to the shower alone would be hard. My whole body gets in sync with hers and there's nothing I can do to prevent it. Well, if I wanted to, because I was enjoying this way too much to ever want to get away from her. Slowly, Sarah started to open her gorgeous hazel eyes I love so much. She started to kiss me and roam my body as her heat was already taking its effects on her. I gladly followed her lead, as my wolf was begging me to. As we made love, every thrust was bringing more and more pleasure. I couldn't resist and bit at the mark on her neck, sending her to new heights of pleasure as I reached orgasm along with her. I removed my teeth from her neck and slowly licked it. We stayed like that, basking in our love, kissing each other. "Good morning my love.?? I told her. She smiled, "Good morning honey.?? That smile of hers was my sun. Now that it was morning and the sun was up, we could get back to the car. We got dressed, made sure to leave the cabin clean for the next person who would come and rest here, and went out in the forest. It took us a little less than an hour to walk back to the parking lot and sure enough, our car was waiting for us. We got back in the car, but we had a few hours before we would be back at my parent's home. We decided we would make a stop at a restaurant to eat breakfast as we were both starving. We stopped at the nearest town and found pretty quickly a place that looked promising. We sat at a table near a window. We ordered eggs with bacon and sausage. I think we were both pretty hungry. "I'll take a coffee,?? said Sarah. "Are you sure babe??? I asked her, "Maybe you should be better with an orange juice, full of vitamins??? She gave me a doubtful look. I didn't want to tell her that since she started to have heat, there was a possibility that she could be carrying my pup. And that, well, I thought she should take something without caffeine; would be better for her and the pup. "You know what??? she started, "you're right! I really love orange juice; I'll go with that this morning,?? she added with a smile. I was relieved; I wouldn't have to explain my reasons yet. I wouldn't know before a few days if she were already carrying my pup, so I wanted to wait until I was sure before talking to her about it. We both devoured our breakfast and then got back in the car. When we arrived at my parents' house, it was already late morning. We came into the house and Sue ran towards us. She told us, "Sam! Sarah! You didn't come back yesterday!?? I answered to her, "Yeah sorry sis. We were far away so decided it was best to rest before coming back.?? She smiled and answered, "It's okay, as long as you didn't forget our girl time together today.?? She said, looking at Sarah. Sarah smiled at my sister. Those two were getting along just fine. I was happy to see how easily Sarah was becoming a big sister for Suzan. "Of course, I wouldn't forget that!?? said Sarah, "but I'd like to shower first if it's okay with you. We've been in the forest for a long time and hadn't had a chance to clean ourselves properly.?? Sue laughed and answered teasingly, "Oh, that explains the smell!?? She winked, "Okay, come and see me when you are ready for our girl time! I've prepared the perfect dinner, we can eat outside, I set up a table by the shade of a tree.?? I smiled seeing how my little sister was so happy. Sarah looked like she was enjoying herself as much. "Okay see you later Sue!?? Sarah said with a smile. "See you later sis,?? I said after giving my sister a hug. We went to our room and took a shower together. The hot water was relaxing, and I was happy to have my mate with me. With everything that had happened in the last few days, and now the heat since last night, my wolf didn't want to leave her. I know that later, when she'll go spend time with my sister, I'm going to have to calm down my wolf and keep it in check. But I'll think about that later. For now, I just wanted to enjoy my time in the shower with Sarah. I carefully washed her body, and as I rinsed it, made sure to kiss every part of it. Then Sarah washed my body. I could feel her looking at every angle of my body, I knew she liked it and it made my wolf swell with pride at the thought of it. We came out of the shower, not wanting to stay for too long, as I knew I had to go talk to my father. Sarah looked at me with her still wet hair tied in a loose bun. She had put on a sunny summer dress. "God you are so pretty!?? I told her. She blushed at my comment. "Thanks, my love.?? She answered, then continued, "I guess I'm not going to eat dinner with you today.?? I didn't want to be away from her, but I knew it would be fine. It was not for a long time and she was here with my pack and my family so she would be safe. I took a deep breath, and mentally repeated to my wolf she would be fine and answered her, "It's okay baby. I need to go talk to my dad anyway, so enjoy your time with my sister. Call me if you need anything.?? She nodded as we went out of the room. I walked Sarah to my sister's room and waited to see her go with Sue before continuing to my dad's study. The door was open, and my father was sitting at his desk. "Hey Dad,?? I said as I entered the room and closed the door behind me. "Hi Son,?? he answered with a smile. "How was your little trip??? "It went well. It turns out Sarah talked with the moon goddess. She says that she's her daughter.?? My father smiled, "Hum, that's the feeling that I had. You have one special mate my son.?? He added with a wink. I laughed at that, I loved my mate so much, the goddess's daughter or not, it didn't change anything to me. "Yeah. Sarah also said the goddess told her that she would come to her aid when the time comes.?? I told my father. "That's good, I guess we're going to need it.?? My father answered. Then he continued, "There's been some development while you were gone.?? I raised a brow at his answered. "Did you find out who attacked her??? I asked full of hope, my anger rising at the thought of being able to catch the person responsible for it. My father looked down and answered, "Sorry son, we didn't find that yet?? But Zach went to the ruins of the ancient pack. He saw a few wolves of the pack going there. They seemed to be searching for something. He overheard them talk about the sepulcher of Eurynomos???? I was taken aback by this name. Eurynomos was an ancient demon creature that was said to feast on flesh and blood and to creep upon the earth killing whoever he seemed fit. He was defeated centuries ago by the moon goddess and was sealed in a sepulcher, never to return. "What??? I asked, "Why would anyone want to find his sepulcher??? My father raised his shoulders. "That, we still don't know, but, while Zach was there, he came across Keven.?? I didn't really know what to think of that. Keven was someone I considered a friend. Why was he there? This was strange news to me. Members of our pack and Keven were apparently trying to find the sepulcher of an ancient demon. It raised so many questions! That was surely related to the prophecy but why did our own pack would want to make the prophecy come true? I was lost in my thoughts when my father spoke, "I know this is a lot to take in. Zach was able to go there and come back unseen. So, for now, it would be better to not say anything and just be cautious about Keven.?? I nodded. If they didn't know that we saw them and was on to them, it would be better and easier to stop them. My father sure was wise and I admired him a lot. "I agree,?? I answered, "What's our next step??? I asked my father. He thought a little before answering. "We're not exactly sure who is involved in this or not?? We can't trust everyone. We only have a few pack members that I only trust. For now, we will continue to observe. As far as we know, they didn't find the sepulcher. As long as we don't know their motives or as long as they don't find the sepulcher, we won't intervene. As soon as we have something to accuse them, we'll act on it.?? That was a good decision. We still didn't know how much of the pack's members were involved. And we couldn't act before we had something to accuse the traitors of. To ban members from the pack, we needed a valid reason, or else there would be a revolt. My father was the Alpha, he was strong, but his role was to care for the pack and make sure our laws were respected. I looked at him with admiration, "You are right dad. As always.?? He smiled at my comment. I added, "I hope I will be as wise as you when I become the Alpha.?? He came and put his hand on my shoulder, "I will teach you everything you need to know Son. I'm sure you will make a great Alpha.?? He looked at me and I could feel he was proud through his look. "Thanks dad.?? I told him. Then he looked at me and asked, "Where is Sarah??? "She's spending some girl time with Suzan.?? My father smiled at my answer, "That's great. Your sister doesn't open up easily to everyone, you know.?? I knew what he meant, Suzan chose very carefully whom she liked and whom she didn't. "Yeah, I know.?? I answered with a wink, "I take it as a good thing then.?? "Indeed, it is,?? my father answered. I thanked my father for his time and went to get something to eat. Dinner time was already passed but I didn't have time to eat yet. I made myself a quick sandwich and went outside. It was sunny and I needed to relax and think about all that I've heard from my father. I sat on the balcony. As I looked in the yard, I spotted my sister and Sarah sitting under the big willow tree. They were sitting on a tiled picnic blanket. It looked like they had food for at least five people and a little tea set. They were talking and laughing. It was nice to see them have fun like that. Suddenly, all my problems went away. My wolf was pulling me towards my mate, urging me to get back to her. I began walking towards them. They didn't even see me approaching so much they had fun. Sue was the first one to look at me. I smiled at them and asked, "Hey there ladies, may I join you??? Sarah turned her head at the sound of my voice and gave me the biggest smile. All I could think of was how much I wanted to hold her into my arms right now. "I missed you babe.?? I pushed through her mind. "I missed you too,?? she answered through my mind and then sent me some images of her hugging me. Sue looked at me and then said, "Well?? I did say no boys were allowed ?? but it's been a few hours so I guess you can join us now.?? I laughed a little, "I'm happy my little sister still has some time for her big brother.?? I told her with a wink. She smiled at me and answered, "I'll always have time for my big brother.?? I sat between Sarah and my sister. I was hungrier than I thought, or those little cookies were just really good. We spent the afternoon talking and laughing together, having a good time. When it was supper time, we had eaten so much all afternoon that we weren't hungry anymore. Sue gave us both a hug and went back inside. "Would you come with me??? I asked Sarah, holding out my hand. "Where??? she asked me. "It's a secret,?? I answered. She giggled and took my hand. We started to walk in the woods. I wanted to show her my secret hideout. The place I always used to play when I was young and where I used to go when I needed to be alone. I've never really shown this place to anyone, but I wanted to share it with her. Of course, usually I would change into a wolf and run, as it would be faster. But today I was enjoying this walk with my mate. After walking for about half an hour through the forest, we arrived at a small creek waterfall. "Here we are,?? I said. Sarah looked all around her in wonder. "Wow! This place is magnificent!?? she said, and she was right, this place was beautiful. The sound of the small waterfall was calming, the sun reflected on the clear water like diamonds. Fern and small forest flowers were blooming all over the creek. You could hear the sound of birds in the trees and if you stayed here quiet for long enough, you could see small animals passing by. This place always seemed to calm me when I need it and take my troubles away. I hugged Sarah from behind and she leaned in my arms. "This is my secret place.?? I started, "This is where I come when I need to be alone or if I need to sort out problems. It always gives me peace of mind. I wanted to share this place with you.?? Sarah was silent for a moment, just enjoying the moment. I was enjoying it quite too, feeling the warmth of her body in my arms and inhaling her sweet scent. "Wow! That place must be really important to you then.?? I smiled at her remark and answered her, "And you are a very important person to me. It seemed only fitting to have a very important person in an important place.?? I could feel her heartbeat speed up in her chest. "Awww Sam! That's the most romantic thing someone ever said to me!?? We cuddled on the border of the water, watching the waterfall and kissing softly for a while. The sun was going down and we could already see the first stars coming out. The night sky was perfect, and the fireflies were flying in the low grass, creating a fairy-tale play of lights. Sitting there in this magical moment with her, Sarah started to kiss me more intensively and to walk my body with her hands. I could smell her pheromones rising. It was driving my wolf crazy. We took off our clothes and made love under the starry sky, sharing this intimate moment together. When at last she was sated, shouting my name and moaning from pleasure, I let myself come, also reaching my peak. We stayed together for a few minutes, two perfectly matched bodies, lying under the moonlight. "Oh my god Sam! This moment couldn't be more perfect.?? "You're right babe, I love you so much.?? We got dressed again and went back to my parent's home. By the time we got back, most of the people were already sleeping. We sneaked into my room taking care of not waking up anyone. Then we took a quick shower together, the hot shower water falling down my back was very relaxing. We washed quickly and I was happy to go cuddle in bed, Sarah curling up in my arms. I fell asleep listening to her breathing and feeling the heat of her body against mine. When I woke up, Sarah was already up, getting dressed and ready. I looked at her, admiring her beauty. I noticed I didn't smell her pheromones, which could mean that she was already carrying my pup. I would be able to know for sure only in a few hours or so, but I couldn't be happier if that was the case, my heartbeat rising from that thought. Just to test the waters, I asked her "Morning babe, how are you feeling this morning??? She smiled, "Hey honey, I didn't see you were awake. I'm feeling fine thanks.?? She came to me and kissed me. "Feeling the heat this morning??? I asked more directly. She thought for a moment and answered, "No, seems to be fine this morning.?? I smiled at her answer, just as I thought. I'll wait until I'm sure of myself before talking to her about this, I wouldn't want to be mistaken and for her to be disappointed. It was Sunday already; time really flew by. Today, we needed to prepare our stuff to get Zach back home and to get back to my apartment. Tomorrow, we would need to get back to work. Sarah and I finished packing our stuff. We didn't need to leave right away, but at least we were ready. When we got out of our room, Zach was getting out of his room too. "Hey Zach, did you prepare your stuff??? "Yep! Ready to go when you are.?? "We can still enjoy some time with the family a little, you should spend time with your parents a little before we leave.?? I told him and then added, "I know you've been busy with the prophecy and investigating the ruins.?? Zach nodded. "Good idea. I'll see you guys later. We leave around noon, right??? I nodded, "Yeah something like that.?? I told him as he went to see his parents. We came downstairs and saw Marissa, Keven and Georges sitting at the table together. As we arrived, they stopped talking and stared at us. I didn't like my uncle Georges a lot, I always thought he was a little weird, but I've been blaming it on the fact his mate was killed years ago. I wanted to ignore them and go see my mom with Sarah, but Keven talked first, "Hi Sam, hi Sarah.?? "Hi,?? I answered, but as I was going to continue, Sarah said, "Hi, I think I didn't get the chance to meet you, I'm Sarah.?? She said, holding her hand to Georges. I forgot he wasn't there when we arrived, and I presented Sarah to everyone. Georges stood up and shook hands with Sarah. "Hi Sarah, I guess you are the one I heard stole Sam's heart away.?? He said with a smile. I was quite happy, both Keven and Georges were looking friendly, but Marissa looked cold and didn't speak a word. And, from what Zach discovered in the ruins I had to keep an eye on Keven as well for the prophecy. So many things at the same time! All I wanted to do was spend time with my mate and hope that she's already carrying my pup. I looked at Georges with a smile and answered him, "You can say that again. She didn't just steal my heart, she's my mate, she's my whole.?? He smiled as I spoke, "Good for you Son, take good care of her.?? I'm not really sure but I think he was referring to the fact that his mate died. Loving Sarah as much as I did, and having this link with her, the way my wolf was attracted to her, I could understand how hurtful that must have been for him. I wondered if he still thought about her. I guess he was, as I would never forget about Sarah even if she died. I looked at him and I swear for a moment I could see his soul in his eyes. "Of course, I will stay by her side for as long as I breathe and protect her with my life.?? He seemed satisfied with my answer and nodded. Suddenly Marissa got up, her face red in anger. "Useless! Can't even take care of herself! I really don't get what you see in her!?? Sarah stepped back and came closer to me. My wolf wanted to jump at her for being so disrespectful of my mate. I had to calm him down or I risked going into a bloodlust and those never ended well. "You will respect my mate.?? I told Marissa, using my Alpha's authority on her. Then continued, "Whether you like it or not, she's the one the moon goddess chose for me. You'd better get used to it. I will not tolerate any disrespect. You better learn your place if you don't want to be banned from the pack.?? My warning seemed to have the desired effect as Marissa sat back looking down. "I apologize for my child's disrespect.?? Georges said, "I will talk to her and see that she knows how to speak to her future Alpha and Luna.??
