"I'm going to meet someone."
"Is there anything you are hiding from me?"
Lamont immediately stopped the car and looked at her seriously.
"Mr. Byron, please conduct yourself. This is my business. You should stop asking." Amelie was on the defensive.
She averted her stubborn eyes from him and was about to get out of the car.
How could Lamont give up so easily?
"No, I'll be with you!"
"You!" Displeased, Amelie was about to question him when the car had already started, which took her by surprise.
"What are you doing?"
"Aren't you going to the pier? We're going now, and it will be too late if we delay."
Lamont said with a blank face, stepping on the gas.
"I said I didn't need you to be with me. Why are you so stubborn?"
Amelie nursed a grievance. But Lamont was driving so fast that she felt too scared to say anything.
