“I’m a messenger your sister sent," Adrian said calmly. "Lucien isn’t a good person, and he’ll surely trouble you again. It’s best if you head back to Medicis Manor."
A woman's head peeked out from behind Hendrick. "My husband has never managed an estate. He has only ever handled straightforward tasks. I fear he may not be up for the job."
"How are you managing your own household?" Adrian asked softly.
Hendrick nodded as he lit up a homemade cigar. "Pretty well. My house is in good order and we live a prosperous life, though I'm a bit stubborn."
Claude was delighted. "I hate managing trivial matters. If you're willing, you can treat Medicis Manor as your own home."
