"Say that again!"
Laurence's voice boomed, but Elizabeth had already ended the call.
The pill was tiny, but she trusted her senior's skills. Even if it couldn't completely detox Alexander, a bit of suppression was already a win.
"Hey sis, come down already! The porridge's getting cold!" Gabriel called from downstairs.
Elizabeth tucked the porcelain bottle away, planning to find the right time to give it to Alexander. If he found out she had this specially made for him, he'd probably get all smug again.
She could already picture that cocky smirk and the way his eyebrows would lift.
Heading downstairs, she saw Rebecca's eyes were red like she'd been crying.
Her eyes instinctively landed on her brother. She gave him a look. "Don't tell me you made her cry? Seriously, you're a guy—act like it."
"I... I didn't..." Gabriel started.
"I just accidentally got some soup in my eye, it's not his fault," Rebecca rushed to explain, forcing out a small, awkward smile.
Soup on her face? Yeah, right. N
