Chapter 7288
"Did you not hear a word I said?" Harvey ignored the eight priests in yellow robes approaching him and simply gave the Hierophant a calm gaze.
"If you want my badge, fight me. These nobodies you called to fight me are useless. Why don't you try it out yourself? I believe if you're willing to do it, I might even go easy on you out of kindness."
Everyone choked when they heard Harvey's words as they looked at him in disbelief.
Go easy on her?
Out of kindness?
Against the Hierophant?
Harvey didn't give a shred of respect to the Hierophant at all! When she wanted his badge, he simply humiliated her!
The Hierophant's expression turned cold. "What's the meaning of this? Are you trying to stage a coup?"
Harvey smiled. "Don't misunderstand me. It's not that I'm trying to stage anything. It's just that I have been left with no choice. I hope you won't mind this."
His words might sound helpless, but the tone was filled with indifference. Every word he said was humiliating the Hierophant directly.
"Emery's words just now were indeed outrageously defiant—deeply cutting and utterly unforgivable, but I saw through it the moment he opened his mouth. He's forcing me to become Grand City's enemy publicly. I didn't want to make things hard for everyone, so I'm going to walk away.
"But you assumed I was afraid and even wanted to take something that's rightfully mine. I refused, and I'm suddenly a traitor?"
Harvey narrowed his eyes. "Isn't that a bit much?"
Emery's expression darkened after hearing Harvey's words. He wasn't sure what Harvey was doing.
If Harvey wanted to sabotage his plans, the best move would have been to leave. So what if he left the badge behind?
Even the greatest heroes know when to retreat and to fight another day, even if he had to suffer humiliation right now.
But just when Emery was going to use his second plan when Harvey wanted to leave, he suddenly chose to go head-to-head against the Hierophant?
It made Emery feel very upset, as if he wasn't sure if he should make his move right now.
Meanwhile, the worry on Wenzel's face disappeared, replaced by deep admiration. While others couldn't see through Harvey, Wenzel realized that he was simply doing whatever he wanted.
Which meant that to Harvey, everyone's schemes and games didn't mean anything to him. Everything he did could be summed up in four words. Depending on his mood. He would act if he was in a good mood or something made him be in a good mood, and no one could stop him.
"Are you questioning the Hierophant?" Dan spoke up, his tone cold. "If you insist on holding on to that badge and keeping your title as Representative, then you better understand that the Hierophant's word is law in Grand City. You have already lost the worthiness of bearing the title of Representative after defying her. Leave the badge and get lost! End this before it spirals any further! This is for your own good!"
Emery also took a step forward. "If you think this is too difficult, Mr. Harvey, you can choose to give up the badge. The Top Ten Families, the Five Hidden Families, and the Four Pillars will understand your weakness. How can one man face the pressure from Grand City's Seven Families?"
Emery was making an advance feigned as a retreat.
