"You're jealous just because I care about Nicholas, huh?" Samantha sneered.
"That's ridiculous!" Alexander slammed the spoon into his bowl, voice rising. "Why the hell would I be jealous of your brother?"
"Then why'd you throw away that blanket—that exact same one he gave me?" Her eyes narrowed with a hint of mockery as she pressed him.
"I got rid of it 'cause it annoyed me. Simple as that." His tone was ice-cold.
Samantha's lips curled into a smirk. She didn't bother responding.
This woman was seriously a pain to deal with. Alexander frowned, then tried to change the subject. "Caitlin, your soup's getting cold. What are you waiting for?"
Samantha just shrugged and calmly continued sipping her soup.
After finishing, she stood up and said, "Thanks for the soup. Good night."
"I'd rather hear you say good morning when I wake up," Alexander said, watching her walk up the stairs like a puppy chasing its owner.
"Sorry, not my style," she shot back without looking back before disappearing aro
