Chapter 2

Nathan finished venting out hi anger as he zipped up his pants. And yet after it all, he still remained the charming bridegroom official. Xyla collapsed on where she sat, she felt almost tortured as she fainted. She was a full mess. Where was the dazzling bride? Her white and moist skin were covered with bruises, as well as the blood marks on where Nathan bit down cruelly. The exquisite makeup of the wedding smeared with her painful tears and was ruined. There was only pain. At the bottom of her heart, there was nothing but pain. He had never treated her like this before. As he treasure her before, protecting her and having no one hurt her. But now, he tore her to pieces with his own hands. She clasped the seat tightly with her hands, holding up without crying, nor looking at the man next to her. After a brief silence, Nathan mercilessly pulled her out of the car. Regardless of the fact that her torn off dress can't cover her body, regardless of her lost footwear, regardless of her pleading to him, he drag her all the way up the mountain. Pain tore through her body. She walked barefoot on the ground in late autumn. Her veil running over the cemetery slabs. Coldness creeping in her heart. Riddled with holes. "You are here for her, now confess to Berry!" He threw her in front of Berry's tombstone like an abandoned doll. Xyla pulled off her veil and covered her chest and stood up and looked at Berry's picture. "Berry, tell your mother what happened that day? Who on earth was it that hurt you?" Thick clouds rolled in the sky and rain that had accumulated for a long time poured down. The pouring rain washed the ground. And it mixed with her trembling whimper. Xyla and Nathan have known each other since they were in middle school and have been in love for many years. In the past two years, Nathan officially took over the Fahrenheit Group and Xyla helped him take care of the company's business. The two were commendable couples. She was engaged to Nathan six months ago and moved into his home. Xyla and Berry got along happily, they didn't need to rush in and were like a complete family of three. Unfortunately, things happened unexpectedly. Three months ago. At first, it was decided for the three people to go on an outing, but Nathan couldn't go with them because of work in the company, and Xyla was the only one who went with Berry. Berry's laughter and joy lingered in her ears, but Xyla fell asleep for some reason. When she woke up, there had been news that Berry had died of drowning, and both the driver and the nanny who had taken her were even bizarrely missing. Xyla couldn't remember the whole story and blamed herself. Unwilling to see her mistake, in order to cheer her up, Nathan decided to advance the wedding date. And just today, at the wedding ceremony, where they had just said affectionately promised that they’re willing to love each other. The missing driver suddenly appeared. Under the attention of everyone, and told that Xyla personally pushed Berry into the river and watched her drown. Afterwards, they then said that Xyla gave him and the nanny a large amount of hush money to let them leave Dongyang City and never show up again. Suddenly, all media camera flashes hit the astonished Xyla's face. The old housekeeper and several servants of the Chinese family also testified. When the young master was not at home, the young lady's attitude towards Miss Berry's was cold and abusive. This was a rhetoric and slander. However, she has no evidence to refute. The most important thing was that Nathan didn't believe her... Xyla cried for a long time in front of the tombstone. No one goes to the cemetery in this weather. She wrapped her veil as best as she could. After walking barefoot for a long time, the soles of her feet had blisters, exhausting the last trace of strength. She was like a wandering soul in the wind and rain. Her body was an empty shell, and her heart completely hollowed out. Before fainting, she seemed to see Nathan's warm smiling face. She whispered as hard as she could that Nathan would believe her... She woke up in the afternoon, she struggled to get out of bed, enduring the slight sting of the wounds on her head and soles and saw Nathan's study door open. She thought he’d be inside. But as soon as she walked to the corner of front of the study, she heard the voices of men and women making love. "I never noticed that you’re so attractive before." It was Nathan's voice. Xyla trembled. "I hate it." The woman's sorrowful voice floated out the door. It turned out to be a woman named Queen Lin. Nathan's most trusted special assistant and also the daughter of Lin Comapany’s owner, the old co-company of their Chinese family. "How annoying? Don't you like it? Huh?" "Yeah, you’re the best, dear." Xyla made the nasty voice that stirred within her again and again. "That woman was always by your side before, and yet you never even saw anyone else." "Don't mention that bitch! Such a disappointment." Nathan's mouth called Xyla a slut, It was sharp had no trace of emotion, and inserted into Xyla's heart like a knife. Unable stand it all anymore, she turned away from everything that was before her eyes and fainted on where she stood.
