Chapter 22
A year later, Cheyenne and Evan held a small wedding in Lumina.
The ceremony took place at a rented estate. There were no grand archways, just a carpet laid out by friends' hands. Instead of the usual wedding march, a guitarist strummed an easy folk tune in the background.
There were only about 20 guests, all close friends they'd made in Lumina over the years.
Cheyenne wore a wedding dress she'd designed herself. It was a simple satin gown embroidered with butterfly wings that shimmered like moving light when she walked. She stepped onto the carpet, waiting for her groom amid a sea of blessings.
When Evan walked toward her in a custom light-gray suit, she suddenly remembered the first time she saw him at the gallery. He had smiled the same way then, warm and radiant. Maybe, even back then, he had already found his way into her heart.
