Chapter 8 She's Just a Fraud
"You're not just trying to trick me, are you?"
Eleanor eyed Samuel suspiciously. Yet as she spoke, she noticed his expression soften, as if something had crossed his mind.
"It's true," Samuel said. "She's the one who saved your life. That's a debt that can only be repaid by marrying her."
Eleanor's face lit up with delight when she noticed his earnest expression and playful mood. She immediately took his hand.
"Then show me! What does my future granddaughter-in-law look like? Is she well-mannered? What about her family—"
"Grandma," Samuel cut her off, helplessness flickering in his eyes. "Don't rush. You'll scare her."
Eleanor thought it over and sighed. She then patted his hand.
"Fine. Since you've made up your mind, I'll support you. I trust you to handle the company matters. Go on. Do what you need to do."
Samuel nodded. Yet behind her back, his eyes carried a deeper weight.
