Chapter 9
"I'm so sorry about that." I said, groaning while hitting my head against the steering wheel a couple of times. She giggled girlishly before placing her hand in front of my head so it wouldn't hit the steering wheel again.
"It's alright. Your mom sounds amazing." She gushed.
"She really is. You'd love her. I wouldn't be anywhere near the person I am today if it wasn't for her." I said. Aurora went quiet, so I turned my head to look at her once again. She had a sullen look on her face as she glanced out the window.
"Well would you look at that!" I exclaimed pointing towards the shopping mall ahead of us, hoping to get her mind off whatever was upsetting her.
"What?" She asked, her eyes following to where my hand was pointing. She laughed when she saw the large sign that said "Carla's Creamery".
"Coincidence, huh?" She said smiling at me once again, but this time it didn't quite reach her eyes.
