Chapter 18
"There's no need to get angry. She's just a child. I've already spoken to her about running off when she's with you and she understands that she can no longer do it. If you'd like, you can come back in a couple hours to get her. I don't mind letting her spend some time with me." I reasoned with a levelled voice. She looked put out by my dismissal of her, but didn't protest before grunting that she'd be back in a little while to pick her back up before sauntering out. Calla released a cute sigh of relief before straightening back up. I picked up a few strands of her hair and began to french braid. I couldn't keep the question that I was dying to ask from tumbling out of my mouth.
"Calla, Miss Agatha doesn't ever hurt you, does she?" I inquired softly, not wanting to alert her that anything was wrong or that I was suspicious of anything.
"No, not really. Sometimes, though, when she gets angry she grips my arm and it kinda hurts." She murmured out thoughtfully wh
