Chapter 6
When Aaron snapped out of his reverie, tears had streaked his face.
How could he have forgotten about that? I had poured all my money into the company when it was at the brink of death to help Aaron get through the worst of it.
He was too mad earlier and instinctively assumed I had escaped with the money.
With that thought in mind, Aaron suddenly felt a sharp, gut-wrenching pain in his chest. It merely intensified his unease.
Lucy put on a pitiful expression and picked up his phone, handing it to him.
Aaron's hands were trembling as he carefully gripped his phone and scrolled through his chat with me. The last time we chatted was three days ago. That discovery caused Aaron to tap on his phone case in irritation.
"Aaron, don't worry…" Lucy was acting delicately again, but Aaron shoved her aside instantly.
He strode toward the cellar without hesitation, wanting to see for himself what exactly was inside.
"Brat, how dare you go missing? Do you really think you're our only sister?"
