Hayden gave Joshua a mischievous grin and said loudly, "Joshua, just look at all this food. If it's not to your taste, why don't we just go somewhere else? There are plenty of restaurants nearby."
Joshua lifted his gaze slightly. His eyes swept briefly across the spicy dishes on the table before landing discreetly on Jasmine, seated quietly across from him. She was looking down, gently adjusting her utensils, seemingly unaware of the conversation.
In a calm voice, he replied, "No need. This is fine."
Ever since their last argument, it had been quite a while since he and Jasmine had sat down for a meal together like this.
Even though the table was crowded with others and filled with dishes he didn't care for, just being able to see Jasmine made the discomfort tolerable.
