Aria's POV
Aiden was leaving for a business trip today, and I felt a wave of relief wash over me. After several days of awkwardly avoiding him around the house, I could finally relax. The thought of having the entire mansion to myself seemed liberating.
However, by the second night after his departure, the empty house felt strangely hollow. The silence was deafening. Even my usual bedtime mobile games couldn't hold my attention; I just sat there staring at the screen.
When Lillian's message finally snapped me out of my trance, I realized I'd been spacing out completely.
